Prof. Vijayakumar Anand received his Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India in 2015. He was a PBC outstanding postdoctoral fellow at Ben Gurion University, Israel from 2015-2018. From 2019 to 2021, he was a Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Enterprise Fellow (Nanophotonics Fellow) at Swinburne University, Australia. He started his position as Associate Professor at University of Tartu in 2022. He has published more than 100 journal articles, conference proceedings and book chapters. He is also an author of a bestselling textbook on Design and Fabrication of Diffractive Optical Elements with MATLAB, published by SPIE press. He has been elected to the editorial board of Nature Springer Applied Physics B: Laser and Optics and Chinese Optics Letters. His current research interests include computational optics, imaging, digital holography, diffractive optics, and microfabrication.
Project Manager: Tiia Lillemaa
Tiia Lillemaa is a Project Manager in University of
Tartu with more than 20 years of project and human resources management
experience in FP7, H2020, ESA and national funding. Last two years she worked
for Grant Office in University of Tartu as Foreign Funds Coordinator of H2020
and Horizon Europe projects. She has been involved in recruiting incoming
researchers since 2008. From 2015 to 2020 she was an EURAXESS network
coordinator in the Tartu Observatory. She have organized lots of international
seminars, training events and conferences for researchers over last 20 years.
Research manager: Aravind Simon John Francis Rajeswary
Mr. Aravind Simon received his
Masters degree in Computer Applications from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University,
India in 2005. He held many positions of importance such as the Vice-Principal
of St. Joseph Institute of Information Technology and Deputy Controller of Examinations
of St. Joseph University of Tanzania until 2021. He started his new position as
the research manager of ERA Chair project from March 2022. He is interested in
deep learning, software development and administration.
Senior Researcher (Scientist): Dr. Manoj Kumar
Dr. Manoj Kumar
received his Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India
in 2016. He was a Kreitmann fellow at Ben Gurion University, Israel from 2016-2017.
From 2018 to 2021, he was a JSPS postdoctoral fellow at Kobe University, Japan.
He started his position as Senior Research Scientist at University of Tartu from
April 2022. He has published around 80 journal articles, conference proceedings
and book chapters. He was a guest editor of SPIE optical engineering journal.
His current research interests include multimodal imaging, quantitative phase
imaging and holography
